I've been super inspired by Scott Benson lately, all of his work is so compositionally beautiful, and exceptionally executed. After hassling Scott with loads of questions for quite some time (even refreshing his blog on a daily basis), he brought out this awesome post, answering my questions and tons more he had received (even though he already does give in-depth dissections of his projects).Scott's article was in-depth, well written, and very informative. I sure hope to see some more. As I'm practicing, I'm asking myself a lot of questions, but if it's one thing that I learn't from him, is to tackle each challenge on it's own. There is no one way to do things, you have to use your imagination, and try and try and try again until you get what you are happy with. I've been trying out his techniques, and some-how I think I'm developing something. I've been on a "Never-ending quest" to find my own style, and after Scott's guidance (and loads of research), I have found a method that really attracts me. But it will take practice, loads of it. I'll be keeping a sketchbook over at conceptartHere are some of the many tests I have conducted so far: Some small errors here, would like a few things exaggerated to give her a bit more personality. Many issues with this, but somehow if it was used in a short sequence it might be believable. And finally, an example Scott Benson's inspirational work :
